Description
This development board combines the popular ESP8266 SoC, in the ESP-12F module form factor, with a robust electromechanical relay to create a networked switching node. The ESP8266 provides full 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity and a Tensilica L106 32-bit RISC processor, allowing it to run custom firmware for smart home automation, remote control, and IoT telemetry applications.
The module’s key engineering feature is its wide-input DC/DC power supply, which accepts voltages from 5V up to 80V. This eliminates the need for an external step-down converter when integrating into systems with common industrial DC bus voltages like 12V, 24V, or 48V. The relay output is isolated, protecting the low-voltage logic circuitry from the higher-voltage load side, and is rated for substantial AC and DC currents.
