Description

The EDATEC ED-CM4SEN is a purpose-built industrial computer designed for IoT data acquisition and gateway applications. It leverages the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4’s processing power, pairing it with a comprehensive suite of wireless and wired interfaces housed in a rugged, thermally managed metal enclosure. The system addresses core industrial requirements, including isolated serial communication, reliable cellular backup, and operation across extended temperature ranges.

Architecturally, the board provides direct access to the CM4’s high-speed interfaces while adding critical industrial peripherals. The integrated 4G/LTE module ensures network connectivity in areas without Wi-Fi, while the onboard Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 handle local device networks and short-range sensor links. Power management and heatsinking are designed to sustain CPU, wireless module, and PMU performance under continuous load in challenging environments.
