DFRobot Gravity GNSS GPS BeiDou Positioning Module with RTC - I2C & UART
The DFRobot Gravity GNSS GPS BeiDou Positioning Module integrates a satellite receiver with a high-precision real-time clock (RTC), providing accurate positioning and timekeeping for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32-based systems via I2C and UART interfaces.
Features
- Dual-mode GNSS positioning supporting GPS and BeiDou satellite constellations.
- Integrated high-precision RTC with automatic GNSS time synchronization for accurate long-term timing.
- Ultra-low power operation with GNSS auto-shutdown after sync, drawing less than 1mA.
- Dual communication interfaces: I2C (for RTC control) and UART (for raw GNSS data).
- Compact 32mm x 42mm module includes an IPEX1 connector for an active ceramic antenna.

This module combines a multi-constellation GNSS receiver with a dedicated real-time clock chip to deliver precise positioning and time data. The system automatically calibrates its internal RTC using the highly accurate time signal from the GNSS satellites, then powers down the GNSS receiver to conserve energy, making it ideal for battery-powered, time-sensitive applications.
It provides a 1PPS (Pulse Per Second) signal and a 32.768kHz clock output for external synchronization. The module operates across a 3.3V to 5V DC range, ensuring compatibility with a wide array of microcontrollers and single-board computers for projects in remote sensing, data logging, and network time protocol servers.
