DFRobot Fermion MEMS Odor Gas Sensor (0.5–50 ppm) - Analog Output
The DFRobot Fermion MEMS Odor Gas Sensor is a compact analog-output module designed for qualitative detection of odor compounds like H2S, EtOH, and acetone (0.5–50 ppm). Operating from 3.3V to 5V DC, it is compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontroller platforms for air quality and odor monitoring applications.
Features
- Advanced MEMS technology enables a compact 13x13x2.5mm footprint and low power consumption (<20mA).
- Qualitative detection of multiple odor gases including Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Ethanol (EtOH), and acetone.
- Analog voltage output for easy integration with ADC inputs on microcontrollers and data acquisition systems.
- Fast response and recovery times with a typical lifespan of ≥5 years in standard air environments.
- Wide operating range from -10°C to 60°C and 15-90% RH (non-condensing).

The Fermion MEMS Odor Gas Sensor utilizes microelectromechanical system (MEMS) technology to provide a highly miniaturized and power-efficient solution for qualitative gas sensing. The sensor’s heated metal oxide (MOX) sensing element reacts to the presence of target odorants, producing a change in resistance that is output as an analog voltage signal proportional to gas concentration.
Designed for robustness in varied environments, the module requires a brief preheating period for stable operation and delivers rapid response to gas exposure. Its low thermal mass contributes to minimal heat generation and short stabilization times. The sensor is intended for qualitative trend analysis and presence detection rather than precise quantitative measurement, making it suitable for a range of monitoring and alerting applications.
