The LDT0-028K sensor utilizes a 28 µm thick piezoelectric PVDF polymer film laminated to a 0.125 mm polyester substrate, with screen-printed silver ink electrodes. Bending the film displaces it from the mechanical neutral axis, creating high strain within the piezopolymer and generating a correspondingly high output voltage. This principle allows the device to function either as a direct-contact flexible switch or, when mounted as a cantilever, as an accelerometer responding to inertial vibrations.
The sensor’s sensitivity and resonant frequency can be tuned by adding mass or altering the clamped free length of the element, enabling customization for specific application requirements. Its construction is designed to withstand high-impact events while providing a reliable, solderable interface for integration into control circuits, condition monitoring systems, and impact detection assemblies.
