The CLJ-C18-5APA operates on the electromagnetic induction principle, where an internal oscillator coil generates a high-frequency field. When a metallic object enters this field, eddy currents are induced, causing a detectable change in the oscillator’s amplitude. This change is processed by the internal circuitry to switch the PNP transistor output.
Constructed with a shielded (flush-mountable) sensing face, this sensor can be installed flush with metal surfaces without loss of sensing range. It features robust environmental sealing for reliable operation in industrial settings, offering high repeat accuracy and a fast response time for tasks like part counting, position verification, and end-of-travel detection.
