The Panasonic PM-L45 photoelectric sensor employs a through-beam (opposed) sensing principle, where a separate infrared emitter and receiver are aligned. An object is detected when it interrupts the light beam between the two units. This method provides high reliability and immunity to target color, reflectivity, or surface finish.
