Description

The Winsen WPAH01 pressure sensor utilizes a thick-film piezoresistive element printed on a high-elasticity ceramic substrate. This construction provides inherent advantages in corrosive, high-vibration, and thermally unstable environments where traditional silicon-based sensors may fail. The ceramic material offers excellent resistance to wear, impact, and chemical attack.

Laser calibration of zero and full-scale output ensures high initial accuracy, while the material’s creep resistance contributes to long-term stability. The sensor outputs a millivolt-per-volt (mV/V) signal proportional to the applied pressure, making it compatible with standard instrumentation amplifiers and data acquisition systems for precise measurement and control.

Key Features

  • Ceramic thick-film piezoresistive sensing technology for durability.
  • High overload capacity and excellent resistance to shock and vibration.
  • Superior corrosion resistance suitable for chemical, refrigeration, and environmental applications.
  • Laser-trimmed for precise zero and span calibration.
  • Wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
  • Compact and robust Φ18mm x 6.35mm package.
  • Stable 10 kΩ input and output bridge resistance (±30%).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the output signal of the WPAH01 sensor?

The WPAH01 provides a ratiometric analog output expressed in millivolts per volt (mV/V) of excitation. With a typical sensitivity of 2.5 mV/V, applying a 10V supply yields a 25 mV signal at full scale. This output requires an instrumentation amplifier or a high-impedance ADC for signal conditioning and measurement.

Can this sensor be used with corrosive fluids or gases?

Yes, the ceramic sensing element offers excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for applications involving aggressive media in chemical processing, refrigeration (refrigerants), and environmental monitoring. The ceramic is inherently resistant to many acids, bases, and solvents that would degrade metal or silicon sensors.

How do I select the correct pressure range and wire the sensor?

You must specify the required pressure range (e.g., 10 bar) when ordering. The sensor typically has four pins: two for bridge excitation (V+ and V-) and two for the differential signal output (Out+ and Out-). Always refer to the manufacturer's datasheet for the exact pinout. Use shielded cable for long runs to minimize noise.
