Sharp Microelectronics GP2Y1010AU0F Dust Sensor, Analog Output, Range: 0~1500 µg/m³
The Sharp Microelectronics GP2Y1010AU0F is a compact optical dust sensor with analog voltage output, designed for detecting airborne particulate matter (PM) concentrations from 0 to 1500 µg/m³. It operates on a 4.5-5.5V DC supply and is suitable for integration into air quality monitors, air purifiers, and HVAC systems.
Features
- Optical sensing principle with diagonally arranged IRED and phototransistor for reliable Particle detection.
- Analog voltage output proportional to dust concentration, with a sensitivity of 0.5 V/(0.1 mg/m³).
- Compact form factor measuring 46.0 × 30.0 × 17.6 mm for easy integration into space-constrained designs.
- Low power consumption with a maximum operating current of 20 mA.
- Capable of distinguishing between smoke particles and general household dust based on output pulse patterns.

The Sharp Microelectronics GP2Y1010AU0F employs an optical scattering method to detect fine airborne particles. An infrared emitting diode (IRED) projects a light beam, and a phototransistor positioned at a diagonal angle senses the light scattered by passing dust particles. This configuration minimizes the influence of ambient light, enhancing measurement stability for particulate matter (PM) concentrations.
The sensor outputs an analog voltage signal that correlates with the density of detected particles within a range of 0 to 1500 µg/m³. It is designed for general-purpose air quality monitoring, with an operating temperature range of -10°C to +65°C, making it suitable for indoor environmental applications. The single-pulse detection method provides a clear signal for distinguishing between different Particle types, such as cigarette smoke and common dust.
