Description
The RAK3172 Evaluation Board is a comprehensive development platform designed for engineers and system integrators building long-range IoT networks. At its core is the STM32WLE5CCU6 system-on-chip, which integrates an ARM Cortex-M4 processor with a Semtech SX126x-based LoRa transceiver, enabling both LoRaWAN protocol stack execution and direct P2P communication. This architecture provides a balance of processing power and ultra-low-power RF performance, suitable for battery-operated field deployments.
The board’s RF front-end supports a wide spectrum of global sub-GHz ISM bands, allowing for seamless regional deployment. It includes a comprehensive power management unit supporting USB-C, a single-cell Li-Ion battery, and direct solar panel input with MPPT, facilitating operation in off-grid environments. With 256 KB of Flash and 64 KB of SRAM, developers have ample space for custom application logic and Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
