The Arduino Portenta Max Carrier is engineered to unlock the full potential of the Arduino Portenta family for demanding industrial, building automation, and advanced robotics applications. By converting a Portenta module (sold separately) into a standardized, high-performance single-board computer, it drastically reduces time-to-market for complex embedded projects requiring edge AI capabilities and robust connectivity.

This carrier board provides seamless access to the Portenta module’s onboard peripherals, augmenting them with critical industrial interfaces and wireless communication options. Developers gain access to Gigabit Ethernet, multiple USB-A ports, FD-CAN on RJ11, and serial RS232/422/485 on RJ12. For wireless IoT and Industry 4.0 solutions, it integrates LoRa® and a SARA-R412M-02B module supporting 4G Cat-M1 and NB-IoT, complete with SMA antenna connectors. A mini PCIe slot further enables expansion for custom solutions.

Designed for resilience, the Portenta Max Carrier accepts a wide 6V to 36V DC input and includes an onboard 18650 Li-ion battery connector with charging circuitry, ensuring standalone operation. It also features a microSD slot for data logging, integrated audio jacks for stereo line-in, mic-in, and line-out, plus a speaker connector, enhancing its versatility for diverse embedded system designs.
