The Waveshare ESP32-S3-Pico is a compact, high-performance development board designed for embedded IoT and wireless applications. Its core is the Espressif ESP32-S3R2 microcontroller, which integrates a dual-core 240 MHz processor with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 radios. The board includes a high-efficiency MP28164 DC-DC buck-boost power regulator, supporting stable operation with load currents up to 2A from a single USB-C supply.
Engineered for developer convenience, the board incorporates CH343 and CH334 interface chips to provide seamless USB-to-serial communication and USB host/device capabilities through the Type-C connector. This eliminates interface switching and external programmers. The castellated module design allows for direct soldering onto carrier boards, making it suitable for both prototyping and final product integration. With support for multiple low-power states, developers can finely tune the balance between RF performance, data rate, and energy consumption for battery-operated deployments.
