Description

The Ubertooth One is a specialized open-source hardware platform designed for deep Bluetooth protocol analysis, development, and security research. Unlike standard Bluetooth modules, it operates not just as a transceiver but can enter a monitor mode to passively capture and analyze Bluetooth traffic in real-time, a capability previously common only in Wi-Fi. This makes it an invaluable tool for developers, security auditors, and researchers working with the Bluetooth protocol stack.

Built around an NXP Semiconductors LPC175x series ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller, the board provides substantial processing power and integrates a full-speed USB 2.0 interface for direct connection to a host PC. Its architecture supports both transmitting and receiving 2.4 GHz signals with performance metrics rivaling Class 1 Bluetooth devices, facilitating the development of custom long-range Bluetooth applications. The inclusion of a standard JTAG debug connector and an In-System Programming (ISP) serial port offers full control over firmware development and debugging workflows.
