Description
The Crowtail DWM1000 module is a fully integrated, low-power solution for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) indoor positioning and short-range wireless communication. It leverages the Decawave DW1000 radio transceiver, which operates across four channels within the 3.5 GHz to 6.5 GHz frequency band, enabling precise Time-of-Flight (ToF) calculations for distance measurement. The module incorporates an STM32F103 ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller, handling all complex UWB protocol processing and providing a straightforward SPI interface to the host system, significantly reducing development overhead.
Designed for robust performance in IoT asset tracking, the module supports both two-way ranging and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) positioning schemes, achieving location accuracy as fine as 10 centimeters. Its architecture integrates the antenna, all RF circuitry, power management, and clock generation into a single compact package, ensuring reliable operation and simplifying PCB layout. Operating at low power consumption levels, it is ideal for battery-powered tracking tags, robotic navigation, and smart infrastructure where traditional RSSI-based methods fail.
