Description

The MMC HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) provides a convenient way to expand your Raspberry Pi’s storage capabilities by adding a second microSD socket. This HAT utilizes the Raspberry Pi’s second (or third on Pi 4) SDIO interface, allowing for direct hardware-level access to an additional microSD card.

It offers broad compatibility across various Raspberry Pi models, including the A+, B+, Zero (with headers), Zero W (with headers), 2B, 3B, 3B+, and 4B. It’s important to note that when used on a Raspberry Pi Zero W, 3B, or 3B+, the onboard WiFi will be disabled as it shares the same SDIO interface. However, the Raspberry Pi 4, with its three SD controllers, supports simultaneous use of the onboard SD, WiFi, and the MMC HAT.

This expansion board is ideal for developers and makers looking to create robust systems requiring redundant storage, easy OS management, or simply more space for projects and data.
