The ZYMKEY4i represents the fourth generation of Zymbit’s advanced security modules, engineered to integrate seamlessly with popular single-board computers such as the NVIDIA Jetson Nano and various Raspberry Pi models. It connects directly to the host’s GPIO header, leveraging the I2C bus and a dedicated GPIO-4 line to establish an encrypted communication channel with the CPU. This hardware-centric approach ensures a robust foundation for secure operations, safeguarding critical system components and data.

This module provides comprehensive security features, including an encrypted root file system that protects the operating system from unauthorized access or modification. It offers secure key storage and generation, essential for cryptographic operations and digital signatures. Furthermore, ZYMKEY4 incorporates sophisticated physical tamper detection mechanisms, such as perimeter breach sensors and an accelerometer, to alert or react to unauthorized physical interference. The integrated precision Real-Time Clock (RTC) with battery backup ensures accurate timekeeping, vital for secure logging and certificate validation.
