The 52Pi N21 Dual NVMe Base is specifically engineered to enhance the Raspberry Pi 5 by introducing dual NVMe interfaces. This expansion board utilizes the ASM1182e PCIe Gen 2 chipset, a high-performance packet switch that significantly boosts data transfer speeds and storage flexibility for the Raspberry Pi 5 platform. Developers and makers can integrate two NVMe SSDs, supporting form factors including 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280, to expand storage capacity and accelerate data-intensive workloads.

Designed for robust operation, the N21 base ensures reliable power delivery to connected SSDs through custom high-current gold-plated spring pins and two dedicated high-efficiency DC/DC step-down converters, each providing up to 3A. Its bottom-mounted form factor ensures it does not interfere with the Raspberry Pi 5’s official active cooler or other top-mounted HATs. The board also incorporates LED indicators for real-time drive status monitoring and supports the HAT+ STANDBY power state, optimizing power consumption by automatically shutting down when the Raspberry Pi 5 is powered off.
