Description
The Cytron UIC-S is an essential ICSP Programmer Socket designed to integrate with the UIC00A and UIC00B USB ICSP PIC Programmers. This combination transforms the UIC00A/B into a versatile, standalone USB programmer, streamlining the embedded development process. It significantly simplifies the repetitive task of flashing firmware during prototyping and debugging phases by eliminating the need for complex wiring. The socket itself draws power directly from the connected programmer, requiring no additional external power supply.
At its core, the UIC-S features a robust 40-pin ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket, allowing developers to effortlessly insert and remove various PIC microcontrollers. This design dramatically reduces wear and tear on valuable IC pins and accelerates the iteration cycle. A convenient selector switch ensures proper configuration for different pin-count PICs, supporting 18-pin, 28-pin, and 40-pin 8-bit PIC microcontrollers, including popular families like PIC16F and PIC18F.
