Description
The Wio Lite MG126 is a versatile and cost-effective development board, centered around the powerful Microchip Technology SAM D21, an ARM Cortex-M0+ based microcontroller. This board integrates an onboard MG126 2.4GHz single-mode Bluetooth transceiver, providing essential wireless connectivity for modern IoT applications. Designed for broad compatibility, the Wio Lite MG126 shares the same Arduino Core (SAM D21) as the Arduino Zero and features a compatible form factor with the popular Adafruit Feather series, allowing developers to leverage extensive existing ecosystems.
This board breaks out the 3.3V I/O pins of the SAM D21, offering a comprehensive set of resources including 14 digital pins, 6 analog pins, 1 UART port, 1 I2C port, and 1 ICSP port for flexible peripheral integration. For power and data transfer, the Wio Lite MG126 utilizes a USB Type-C interface, aligning with contemporary hardware standards. Additionally, it features a JST2.0 Li-Po battery port, enabling portable applications with 3.5V or 4.2V Li-Po battery support and integrated charging capabilities.
The core Bluetooth functionality is handled by the MG126, a 2.4GHz BLE RF transceiver known for its ultra-low power operation and embedded packet handling engine. It supports a 1Mbps air data rate and communicates with the Arduino core via a high-speed SPI interface at up to 4Mbps, ensuring efficient wireless communication within a maximum connection distance of 10 meters.
