The VCNL4200 integrates a long-distance infrared proximity sensor and a high-resolution ambient light sensor into a single, compact surface-mount package. Utilizing a 940 nm IRED and advanced CMOS process, it provides precise digital measurements for both proximity (up to 1.5 meters) and ambient light intensity (0.003 to 1573 lux). Its parallel operation structure allows simultaneous PS and ALS readings without interference.
Designed for reliability, the module incorporates Filtronâ„¢ technology to effectively cancel out background light noise, ensuring stable performance even behind dark or high-transparency lenses. The digital I2C output simplifies connection to 3.3V or 5V logic systems, making it suitable for a wide range of automated and energy-saving applications.
