Description

The SparkFun RedBoard Plus is an advanced Arduino-compatible development board that builds upon the popular Arduino Uno feature set, incorporating several enhancements for modern prototyping. At its core is the ATmega328P microcontroller, pre-loaded with the Optiboot (UNO) bootloader, ensuring seamless integration with the Arduino IDE. A standout feature is the integrated Qwiic Connect System, which facilitates solderless I2C connections, significantly streamlining the process of adding compatible sensors and modules without requiring a shield.

This development board offers robust power management, utilizing LM1117 and AP2112 regulators to provide stable 5V and 3.3V outputs, capable of supplying up to 600mA to connected Qwiic devices. A key design innovation is the “Red Squirrel” I/O voltage switch, allowing users to effortlessly toggle the GPIO voltage between 3.3V and 5V to match various peripheral requirements.
