The SparkFun NEO-M9N GPS Breakout provides advanced global navigation satellite system capabilities, leveraging a powerful u-blox M9 engine. This module is designed for applications demanding high precision and fast lock times, supporting simultaneous reception from four major GNSS constellations: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. This concurrent multi-GNSS capability significantly improves positioning accuracy, particularly in challenging environments where line-of-sight to satellites can be obstructed.
Equipped with an onboard rechargeable battery, the NEO-M9N ensures backup power to maintain ephemeris data, enabling rapid hot locks within seconds upon power-up. Connectivity is flexible, offering both I2C (via Qwiic for plug-and-play integration) and UART interfaces, accommodating various system architectures without monopolizing critical communication ports. The integrated U.FL connector allows for easy attachment of a preferred external antenna, optimizing signal reception and installation flexibility.
