The RunCam Split 4 combines a high-resolution 13MP Sony image sensor for 4K recording with a dedicated analog video processor for a low-latency FPV feed. This dual-function design eliminates the need for a separate action camera on lightweight builds, significantly reducing weight and complexity. Its power management circuitry is engineered to handle voltage fluctuations common in drone power systems, protecting the recorded video files from corruption during sudden power loss.
Designed for integration, the Split 4 communicates via UART, allowing pilots to control recording, change settings, and access OSD data directly from their radio transmitter through the flight controller. The compact PCB and modular lens design facilitate installation in tight spaces, making it ideal for micro, whoop, and 3-4 inch toothpick drone frames where space and weight are at a premium.
