The Pro-Range GB40-T24 light curtain sensor is designed for dual-voltage operation, accepting either 12V DC or 24V DC power input. This flexibility allows for integration into a wide range of industrial control panels and power systems. Ensure your power supply can deliver the required current, as the quiescent draw is under 110mA.

Mount the emitter and receiver units on stable surfaces opposite each other, ensuring they are parallel and within the 0.3M to 10m operating range. The units have a horizontal alignment tolerance of ±5° at distances of 3 meters or more. Use the provided mounting holes and ensure the 920mm detection height covers the intended hazard zone.

When any of the 24 infrared beams is interrupted, the sensor's safety output circuit activates. It provides a solid-state output capable of sinking or sourcing up to 300mA, which is typically used to switch the control input of a safety relay or PLC safety module to initiate a machine stop.

With an IP64 rating, it is protected against dust and water splashes, making it suitable for many indoor industrial environments but not for continuous outdoor exposure to rain. Its high ambient light immunity (10,000 Lux) ensures stable operation under bright factory lighting, including direct incandescent light up to 3,000 Lux.

The Pro-Range GB40-T24 has an exceptionally fast response time of less than 10 milliseconds from beam interruption to output signal change. This speed is critical in safety applications to ensure that a machine's hazardous motion is stopped before a person can reach the danger zone, helping to achieve required safety performance levels (PL) per ISO 13849.
