The CLJ-C18-5ANA operates on the inductive sensing principle, generating an electromagnetic field from its sensing face. When a conductive (primarily ferrous) metal object enters this field, it induces eddy currents that are detected by the sensor’s internal oscillator, triggering a change in the NPN transistor output state. This provides a reliable digital signal for object detection, counting, or positioning without physical wear.
