The NBB5-18GM50-E2 operates on the electromagnetic induction principle, generating an oscillating field from its sensing face. When a metallic target enters this field, eddy currents are induced, causing a detectable change in the oscillator’s amplitude. This change triggers the sensor’s solid-state PNP output switch.
Engineered for industrial durability, the sensor features a nickel-plated brass housing rated IP67 for protection against dust and temporary immersion. Its flush-mount design allows installation flush with metal surfaces without loss of sensing distance. The wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C ensures stable performance in demanding factory and automation environments, from conveyor systems to robotic cells.
