The OpenMV Super Telephoto Lens is a precision optical accessory designed to extend the capabilities of OpenMV Cam embedded machine vision platforms. By swapping the standard wide-angle lens, this telephoto module provides an effective 8x optical zoom, transforming the camera into a tool for long-range inspection, detailed object recognition, and targeted monitoring where a narrow field of view is critical.
Constructed with an M12*0.5mm threaded mount, it installs directly onto compatible OpenMV Cam boards. The lens assembly features a 25mm focal length and an F2.0 aperture, delivering a tight horizontal field of view of 9.1 degrees. This configuration is optimal for applications requiring high detail at a distance, such as license plate reading, remote sensor monitoring, or precision alignment tasks, where the standard lens’s wider FOV would lack sufficient pixel density on the target.
