MQ-136 Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Gas Sensor Module - Analog & TTL Output
The MQ-136 is a semiconductor-based gas sensor module designed for detecting Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) concentrations. It provides both analog (0-5V) and digital TTL outputs for easy interfacing with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and industrial PLCs.
Features
- SnO2 semiconductor sensing element with high sensitivity to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S).
- Dual output: analog voltage (0-5V) proportional to gas concentration and digital TTL-level signal.
- Onboard LM393 comparator provides stable digital switching with adjustable sensitivity via potentiometer.
- Compact PCB module design (32mm x 22mm x 27mm) for easy integration into portable or fixed systems.
- Heater voltage requirement ensures proper sensor operation and fast response/recovery characteristics.

The MQ-136 gas sensor module utilizes a tin dioxide (SnO2) semiconductor sensing layer. In clean air, the conductivity of the sensor is low. When exposed to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas, the conductivity increases proportionally with gas concentration. An onboard signal conditioning circuit converts this change into a usable analog voltage output and a digital TTL signal via an LM393 comparator.
Designed for reliable monitoring, the module requires a heater voltage to maintain the sensing element at its optimal operating temperature. This ensures stable performance, long service life, and a fast response to changes in H2S concentration, making it suitable for continuous monitoring applications in safety and environmental systems.
