The Moonlex DC Daylight Sensor utilizes a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) to monitor ambient light intensity. When light levels fall below a preset threshold (approximately 15 LUX), the internal relay closes, powering the connected load. At dawn, when light exceeds the threshold, the relay opens, turning the load off. This photoelectric switching principle provides a robust and energy-efficient method for automating lighting without complex programming.
Built for harsh environments, the module features an IP44 ingress protection rating, safeguarding its electronics against splashing water and dust. Its operating temperature range of -20°C to +50°C ensures reliable performance in most climatic conditions. The module is a simple, two-wire device designed for direct series connection within the DC power line of the load, making it compatible with a wide array of 7-24V DC garden lights, pathway lights, and decorative lighting systems.
