Generic Sound Detection Sensor Module - 3.3V-5V Digital Output
This sound detection sensor module provides a digital output signal when ambient audio levels exceed an adjustable threshold, making it compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic systems like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32 for noise-activated control applications.
Features
- Digital Output (High/Low) triggered by adjustable sound threshold
- Wide 3.3V to 5V DC operating voltage range for microcontroller compatibility
- On-board sensitivity adjustment via potentiometer for precise trigger level setting
- Integrated electret microphone with 16-20kHz frequency response
- Visual LED indicator for immediate sound detection status

The module utilizes an electret condenser microphone paired with an LM393 comparator IC to convert acoustic pressure waves into a clean digital signal. The microphone’s output is conditioned and compared against a user-defined voltage threshold set by the onboard potentiometer, providing a stable TTL-compatible output.
When the instantaneous sound intensity exceeds this preset level, the comparator toggles its output from a logic high to a logic low state, simultaneously illuminating the status LED. This design provides a reliable, debounced signal suitable for direct interfacing with digital input pins on microcontrollers, PLCs, or logic circuits without requiring additional signal processing.
