The KSD301 is a bimetallic disc thermostat encapsulated in a ceramic shell. When the ambient temperature reaches its calibrated setpoint of 150°C, the bimetallic disc snaps, mechanically opening the normally closed electrical contacts to break the circuit. This provides a simple, reliable, and resettable method for over-temperature protection without requiring external power.
Its ceramic construction offers excellent dielectric strength, thermal endurance, and resistance to arcing, making it ideal for integration into appliances, power tools, transformers, and small industrial heaters where safety and durability are critical. The switch automatically resets once the temperature falls below the hysteresis point, typically 10-20°C below the setpoint.
