The Serial DHT11 Module is an enhanced version of the popular DHT11 digital temperature and humidity sensor. It incorporates a dedicated microcontroller that communicates with the DHT11 sensor chip internally and outputs the processed data via a standard TTL-level serial UART interface. This design abstracts away the precise timing requirements of the native single-wire protocol, significantly simplifying software development.
The module operates from a 3.3V to 5V DC supply, drawing a low operating current of ≤2.5mA. It provides calibrated digital readings for ambient temperature with a typical accuracy of ±2°C and relative humidity with a typical accuracy of ±5% RH. The compact form factor and standard pin spacing make it suitable for integration into prototypes, environmental monitoring stations, and IoT devices.
