Description
The Geekworm M901 shield is an innovative NVMe M.2 SSD PIP (PCIe Peripheral Board) specifically engineered for the Raspberry Pi 5. This board leverages the new, high-speed PCIe interface of the Raspberry Pi 5, allowing users to integrate M.2 NVMe SSDs for significantly faster data transfers and ultra-fast boot times compared to traditional microSD cards. It adheres to the Raspberry Pi’s new ‘PIP’ design guidelines, ensuring robust compatibility and long-term support within the Raspberry Pi OS ecosystem.
Designed for seamless integration, the M901 features a minimalist form factor that is easy to install and remains compatible with existing HAT shields and the official active cooler for the Raspberry Pi 5. It supports a wide range of NVMe M.2 SSD sizes, including 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280, offering flexibility in storage choices. The board also includes an SSD ACT LED indicator, providing visual feedback on power status and read/write operations, and can be powered directly via the FFC PCIe ribbon, delivering up to 5W of continuous power to the connected SSD.
