Bosch Sensortec BHI160B LGA-24 6-Axis Accelerometer Gyroscope

The integrated smart-hub includes a programmable microcontroller that performs sensor fusion and motion processing algorithms on-chip. This offloads computational tasks from the main host processor, enabling always-on motion sensing features like step counting and gesture recognition while maintaining ultra-low system-level power consumption, which is critical for battery-operated wearables and phones.

The BHI160B is housed in a compact Land Grid Array (LGA) package with 24 pins, measuring 3x3 mm. This LGA-24 footprint is designed for high-density PCB layouts in space-constrained applications like smartphones, smartwatches, and other miniaturized portable electronics.

The BHI160B provides processed sensor data through standard digital communication interfaces such as I2C and SPI. It outputs both raw accelerometer and gyroscope data, as well as higher-level, fused data streams from its on-board algorithms, including quaternions for orientation, step counts, and classified activity states directly to the host system.
