Description
The Arducam Noir Camera Module is engineered as a direct upgrade to standard Raspberry Pi camera boards, utilizing the Omnivision OV5647 1/4-inch CMOS sensor. It delivers 5-megapixel still images and full HD 1080p video recording through the Pi’s dedicated Camera Serial Interface (CSI), ensuring a high-bandwidth, low-latency connection for real-time vision processing.
This revision C module features an integral infrared filter that extends its spectral sensitivity, making it particularly suitable for security systems, night vision monitoring, and low-light environmental sensing applications where detail preservation is critical. The included LS-2717CS lens provides a manual focus mechanism via its CS mount thread, allowing developers to swap in alternative C/CS-mount optics for specialized fields of view or focal lengths.
Beyond basic capture, the board exposes synchronization signals (FREX and STROBE) enabling hardware-triggered, multi-camera array setups for advanced machine vision or 3D scanning projects. Its compact form factor and standard 15-pin CSI ribbon cable ensure seamless integration into Raspberry Pi-based enclosures and embedded systems.
