Description
The Arducam 5MP OV5647 NoIR Camera Module is engineered for robust, round-the-clock vision applications on the Raspberry Pi platform. Its core innovation is a software-controllable, motorized IR-cut filter that mechanically slides into place for true-color daytime photography and retracts for high-sensitivity infrared imaging after dark. This is complemented by two broad-spectrum IR LED illuminator boards that activate based on ambient light levels, providing invisible illumination for covert surveillance or wildlife monitoring.
Built around a 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5647 sensor, the module outputs crisp 2592×1944 stills and supports full-motion video. The included LS-30188 lens features an IR-corrected optical design with an M12 mount, ensuring that visible and infrared wavelengths converge on the same focal plane to eliminate the focus shift common in standard lenses. The module operates from a 3.3V to 5V supply, matching the Raspberry Pi’s GPIO power rails, and comes with necessary cabling for immediate integration into Pi-based IoT vision systems, smart agriculture setups, or DIY security projects.
