This module integrates the STMicroelectronics LSM6DS3TR-C, a 6-axis MEMS inertial measurement unit (IMU), with the LIS3MDL, a high-performance 3-axis magnetometer. The LSM6DS3TR-C provides highly accurate linear acceleration and angular rate measurements, while the LIS3MDL delivers precise magnetic field data for true heading (compass) functionality. Together, they enable full 9-DoF motion and orientation tracking with low noise and high stability.
Designed for seamless integration, the board includes built-in power regulation and logic level shifting, allowing safe operation with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers and single-board computers. The primary communication is via the I2C bus, with configurable addresses for each sensor, facilitating easy daisy-chaining. Advanced embedded features like tap detection, free-fall recognition, and pedometer counting are accessible through programmable interrupts.
