Description
The Adalogger FeatherWing is a dedicated expansion board designed to augment the capabilities of Adafruit’s Feather ecosystem. It integrates a PCF8523 I2C real-time clock with a 32kHz crystal and a dedicated CR1220 coin cell backup slot, ensuring persistent timekeeping even during main power cycles. Simultaneously, it provides a full-size microSD card socket connected to the host Feather’s SPI bus, creating a complete local data storage solution.
This board is engineered for system integrators and makers building data-logging applications, such as environmental monitors, GPS trackers, or portable sensor nodes. The FeatherWing mechanically and electrically mates directly with any Feather mainboard via stacking headers, preserving all other GPIO and features. The included tutorials provide ready-to-use firmware examples for setting the RTC and writing sensor data to the SD card, significantly reducing development time for embedded logging projects.
