Frequently Asked Questions

What is the output interface of this CL2 sensor?

The module provides three output options: a digital I2C interface with 32 configurable addresses, a UART (serial TTL) interface outputting 0-3V logic levels, and an analog voltage output proportional to gas concentration. This allows integration with microcontrollers using either analog pins or digital communication protocols.

What is the operating voltage and current requirement?

The sensor operates from a 3.3V to 5.5V DC power supply, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic systems like Arduino and ESP32. It draws a low operating current of less than 5mA, which is suitable for battery-powered monitoring applications.

Is the sensor pre-calibrated, and does it require temperature compensation?

Yes, the electrochemical probe is factory calibrated for chlorine gas, providing accurate measurements out of the box. The onboard signal conversion board includes an integrated temperature compensation algorithm to maintain accuracy across the specified operating range of -20°C to +50°C.

What controllers is this sensor compatible with?

It is designed for seamless compatibility with mainstream development platforms. The Gravity 4-pin connector and provided libraries support Arduino (Uno, Mega), ESP32, ESP8266, and Raspberry Pi (using an ADC for analog or USB-to-serial for UART). Sample code is available from DFRobot.
