Description

This sensor employs a laser scattering principle to continuously count and calculate the concentration of suspended particles in the air, converting the data into mass concentration values for PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10. A dedicated integrated chip provides simultaneous, accurate temperature and humidity readings. All data is packaged into serial data frames and output via a UART interface.

The module features a robust, patented structure with full six-sided electromagnetic shielding to ensure strong anti-interference performance and reliable operation in varied electronic environments. Its flexible airflow design allows for versatile integration into air purifiers, HVAC systems, and environmental monitoring stations.

Key Features

  • Multi-parameter monitoring of PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10, temperature, and humidity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the supply voltage requirement for this air quality sensor?

The module requires a 5V DC nominal supply, with an operational range from 4.5V to 5.5V. It draws a working current of ≤100mA. Ensure your power source can provide stable voltage within this range to guarantee accurate sensor readings and proper operation.

How do I communicate with this sensor and what are the logic levels?

Communication is via a UART (serial) interface. The logic levels are 3.3V compatible: a logic LOW is below 0.8V and a logic HIGH is above 2.7V, with a maximum level voltage of 3.3V. You can connect it directly to 3.3V logic microcontrollers like many ESP32 or Raspberry Pi models, or use a logic level converter for 5V Arduino boards.

What Particle sizes can this sensor detect and how accurate is it?

The sensor can detect particles as small as 0.3 micrometers (μm). Its counting efficiency is 50% for 0.3μm particles and 98% for particles ≥0.5μm. It outputs mass concentration data for PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10, providing a detailed profile of airborne particulate matter.

What environmental conditions can this sensor operate within?

The sensor is designed for indoor use with an operating temperature range of 10°C to 50°C and a relative humidity range of 0% to 99% (non-condensing). For storage, it can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 80°C. Avoid exposing the sensor to direct water splash or condensation.
