Waveshare Hall Effect Sensor Module - Analog/Digital Output
The Waveshare Hall Effect Sensor Module integrates a 49E Hall sensor and an LM393 comparator to provide both analog and digital outputs for magnetic field detection. It operates from 2.3V to 5.3V, making it compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic systems like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32.
Features
- Dual analog (AOUT) and digital (DOUT) signal outputs for flexible interfacing.
- Wide operating voltage range from 2.3V to 5.3V supports 3.3V/5V microcontrollers.
- Integrated LM393 comparator with adjustable sensitivity via onboard potentiometer.
- Open-collector digital output switches low and illuminates an onboard LED upon magnetic detection.
- Compact PCB design (27.0mm x 15.5mm) with 2.0mm mounting holes for easy integration.

This module utilizes the Hall effect principle, where the 49E sensor generates a voltage proportional to the strength and polarity of an applied magnetic field. The analog output (AOUT) provides a continuous voltage signal relative to magnetic flux density, while the digital output (DOUT) provides a clean, logic-level trigger when the field exceeds a user-adjustable threshold set by the onboard potentiometer.
The integrated LM393 voltage comparator ensures stable digital switching and high noise immunity. The module’s low-voltage operation and dual-output design make it suitable for precise magnetic sensing tasks in battery-powered devices, position sensing, and speed measurement applications within industrial and prototyping environments.
