The CRJ-A30M-10ANB sensor operates on a wide DC voltage range of 10 to 30V DC. This flexibility allows it to be powered directly from common industrial 24V DC power supplies or lower voltage PLC auxiliary outputs. The NPN output is an open-collector sinking configuration. Connect the brown wire to your positive DC supply (10-30V), the blue wire to DC common (0V), and the black wire is the switched output. When active, the black wire sinks current to ground, which should be connected to your PLC's digital input module configured for sinking (NPN) inputs.

While capacitive sensors are primarily designed for non-metallic materials (liquids, plastics, wood), they can detect metals if the sensitivity is adjusted high enough. However, for reliable metal detection, an inductive proximity sensor is typically recommended. This model is optimized for dielectric materials and level sensing applications.

The integrated sensitivity adjustment potentiometer allows you to fine-tune the detection threshold. This is crucial for optimizing performance with different material types, densities, or when installing the sensor behind a non-metallic tank wall. Adjust it so the LED triggers reliably at the desired detection distance without false triggering.

The sensor's threaded metal housing provides a degree of environmental sealing.
