This sensor provides an analog voltage output that is proportional to the applied gauge pressure. It is designed for direct connection to the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) input of a 5V microcontroller, such as an Arduino, for straightforward pressure reading and system integration.

The sensor requires a stable 5V DC power supply. Operating outside this specified voltage, such as with a 3.3V or higher voltage source, can damage the sensor or produce inaccurate readings. Always ensure your power source matches the 5V requirement.

For Arduino: Connect the sensor's VCC to 5V, GND to GND, and the analog output pin to one of the Arduino's analog input pins (e.g., A0). For Raspberry Pi (which uses 3.3V logic), you must use a level shifter or an external ADC module compatible with 5V analog signals to avoid damaging the Pi's GPIOs.

This sensor measures gauge pressure, which is the pressure relative to the ambient atmospheric pressure. Absolute pressure sensors measure relative to a perfect vacuum. Use a gauge sensor for applications like tire pressure or pneumatic system pressure where you need to know the pressure above or below atmospheric conditions.

While the sensing element is piezoresistive, the standard SOP-8 package is not inherently sealed for direct liquid immersion. For liquid pressure applications, ensure the sensor is properly isolated using a diaphragm or sealed enclosure to prevent damage from the fluid, and verify compatibility with the media.
