It does not require a separate reflector (like retro-reflective) or a separate receiver unit (like through-beam), making it simpler to install for object presence detection where only one side of the application is accessible.

The PNP (sourcing) output provides a positive voltage signal when activated. Connect the sensor's brown wire (+V), blue wire (0V/Common), and black wire (PNP Output) to your PLC's DC power supply and digital input module accordingly. The PLC input must be configured to accept a sourcing (PNP) signal. Always refer to the sensor's datasheet and your PLC manual for specific wiring diagrams.

Diffuse sensors can struggle with highly reflective or transparent objects, as the infrared beam may scatter or pass through.
