The LJ18A3-8-Z/BX operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, where an internal oscillator creates a high-frequency field. When a metallic object enters this field, eddy currents are induced, causing a detectable change in the oscillator’s amplitude. This change triggers the solid-state NPN output switch.
Built with an IP54-rated housing, the sensor is designed for durability in industrial environments with exposure to dust and incidental water spray. Its three-wire configuration (V+, 0V, Signal) provides a straightforward interface for integration into automated machinery, safety interlocks, and position sensing systems.
