Generic LJ30A3-15-Z/EX Inductive Proximity Sensor, 15mm Range, 2-Wire DC NO, 6–36VDC, IP65, Brass-Nickel Plated
The LJ30A3-15-Z/EX is a 2-wire DC normally open (NO) inductive proximity sensor designed for non-contact detection of metallic objects within a 15mm range. Operating from a 6–36VDC supply, it integrates directly into industrial PLCs, automation controllers, and 24VDC control systems, featuring a robust brass-nickel plated housing for durability in harsh environments.
Features
- 2-Wire DC PNP Normally Open (NO) Output for simplified wiring and direct PLC integration.
- 15mm Nominal Detection Range for reliable, non-contact sensing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Wide 6–36VDC Operating Voltage ensures compatibility with standard 12V, 24V, and 36V industrial power supplies.
- IP65-Rated Brass-Nickel Plated Housing provides robust protection against dust and water jets in demanding environments.
- Reverse Connection Protection safeguards the sensor circuitry from accidental wiring errors.

The LJ30A3-15-Z/EX operates on the inductive sensing principle, where an internal oscillator coil generates an electromagnetic field. When a metallic object enters the 15mm detection zone, it induces eddy currents that dampen the oscillator’s amplitude, triggering the solid-state PNP output switch. This non-contact method ensures high repeatability and eliminates mechanical wear.
Engineered for industrial durability, the sensor features a brass-nickel plated housing and an ABS plastic sensing face, capable of withstanding typical factory contaminants. Its 2-wire DC design simplifies installation by combining power and signal lines, while the built-in reverse polarity protection enhances system reliability. The sensor is calibrated for a recommended operating distance (setting distance) of 0–12mm to ensure stable switching hysteresis.
