The MQ-2 sensor utilizes a tin dioxide (SnOâ‚‚) sensing element, whose conductivity increases in the presence of combustible gases. This change in conductivity is converted into a corresponding output voltage on the analog pin, while a comparator circuit provides a clean digital trigger signal. The module includes a heater circuit to maintain the sensor at optimal operating temperature.
Designed for prototyping and integration, the module features a standard 2.54mm pin header interface, making it compatible with breadboards and common development boards. Its compact form factor and mounting holes allow for secure installation in various gas detection and safety monitoring applications.
