The MH-Z16 utilizes a mature NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) absorption detection technology. An internal infrared source emits light through a gas chamber; a dual-channel detector measures the absorption specific to CO2 molecules, providing a highly selective measurement independent of oxygen concentration and resistant to water vapor interference.
This module integrates precision optical design with signal conditioning circuitry to deliver a linearized digital output. The built-in temperature sensor enables real-time compensation, ensuring accuracy across its operating environment. Its robust construction and non-consumptive sensing principle contribute to a long operational lifespan without sensor poisoning.
