Amphenol SGX Sensortech Multi-Gas Sensor NH3, Ethanol, H2, Propane, Iso-butane 300ppm
The Amphenol SGX Sensortech multi-gas sensor is a compact MEMS-based detector designed for monitoring ammonia (NH3), ethanol, hydrogen (H2), propane, iso-butane, carbon monoxide (CO), and methane (CH4) concentrations up to 300 ppm. It operates on a low 2.4V heater voltage and is suitable for integration into portable air quality monitors, industrial safety systems, and IoT environmental nodes.
Features
- Multi-gas detection for NH3, Ethanol, H2, CO, CH4, Propane, and Iso-butane up to 300 ppm.
- Compact MEMS sensor footprint (5 x 7 x 1.55 mm) for space-constrained designs.
- Low-power heater operation (2.4V, 32mA, 88 mW max dissipation).
- Wide operating temperature range from -25°C to 85°C.
- Robust construction suitable for harsh environmental monitoring applications.

The Amphenol SGX Sensortech sensor utilizes a robust MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) platform with a metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensing element. When the integrated heater brings the sensing layer to its optimal operating temperature, the electrical resistance of the layer changes in proportion to the concentration of specific reducing gases present. This change in resistance is measured and can be translated into a corresponding gas concentration reading via an external microcontroller’s analog-to-digital converter or signal conditioning circuit.
Designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive applications, the sensor offers a wide operational envelope from -25°C to 85°C and humidity from 55% to 85% RH. Its miniature 5 x 7 x 1.55 mm package enables integration into compact portable devices, smart home appliances, and industrial safety equipment requiring reliable detection of combustible and toxic gases.
