Plantower PMS9003M PM2.5 Laser Particle Concentration Sensor, UART, 0~500 µg/m³, 5V
The Plantower PMS9003M is a digital laser Particle concentration sensor designed for real-time monitoring of airborne particulate matter (PM2.5, PM10). It provides accurate concentration data via a UART serial interface, making it compatible with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and industrial PLCs for air quality assessment and environmental control systems.
Features
- Laser scattering principle detects particles from 0.3 µm to 10.0 µm in size.
- Measures PM2.5 concentration range from 0 to 500 µg/m³ (maximum ≥1000 µg/m³).
- Digital UART output with active and passive query modes for flexible system integration.
- Fast response time: less than 1 second for a single measurement, under 10 seconds for full stabilization.
- Patented six-sided shielding design minimizes optical interference for reliable data.

The PMS9003M sensor employs a laser scattering technique to count and size suspended particles in the air, providing real-time digital data on PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 concentrations. Its internal fan draws air through a precisely calibrated optical chamber, where particles scatter a laser beam; a photodetector analyzes the scattering pattern to determine Particle size and quantity.
Engineered for continuous monitoring, the sensor operates reliably across an environmental range of -10°C to +60°C and 0% to 95% relative humidity (non-condensing). The compact, shielded design ensures stable performance in variable conditions, making it suitable for integration into air purifiers, HVAC systems, portable monitors, and environmental data loggers.
